David Bundrick Speaks on Body Cameras for Paducah Police Force

On Behalf of | Jun 18, 2015 | Firm News |

The city of Paducah is raising money to buy 19 body cameras for its police department. Body cameras record crimes and arrests from the officer’s perspective. Paducah Police Chief, Brandon Barnhill thinks, “The accountability, the trust, and the transparency,” the cameras offer is essential. Defense attorney, Edwards & Kautz Law Firm‘s David Bundrick said, “Every officer should have a body camera. Cameras may reveal good things about a case. They may reveal bad things about a case, but they don’t lie. Frequently, a body camera really just shows you the ground or the interior of a car, but it’s better to have something than nothing.” Paducah is applying for a $10,000 grant from the U.S. Department of Justice to purchase the cameras, which will cover the cost of 19 of the palm-sized devices. Eventually, the city wants each of Paducah’s 65 patrol officers to have a body camera of their own.
